Find a Thermostat That Fits Your Central Indiana Home’s Heating and Cooling Needs

The thermostat is the brain of your heating and cooling system. It monitors the ambient temperature of the home and engages either the furnace or the air conditioner and fan for your central air system. The HVAC system then delivers heated or cooled air throughout the living space until the desired temperature is reached. Make sure your home is always comfortable with a thermostat that matches your energy efficiency and convenience needs. Armor Air’s indoor air quality experts can provide you with trustworthy recommendations and expert thermostat installation. Feel free to read more about our thermostat offerings, and give us a call if you have questions.

When Should You Call a Professional for Thermostat Installation?

Although it might not seem like it, thermostats experience normal wear and tear like every other component of your HVAC system. Here are a few signs that your thermostat might need to be replaced:

  • It’s 10 years or older
  • The temperature fluctuates
  • Your utility bills have gone up
  • It’s giving false readings
  • Your home has difficulty reaching the set temperature
  • Your current thermostat does not give you the ability to set schedules or other features that you want to better control your home’s heating and cooling systems.
  • Your HVAC system turns on and off frequently

If any combination of these common problems happens in your home, consider giving Armor Air’s thermostat experts a call. With our $29 service visit fee, we can provide your thermostat with a thorough assessment that won’t break the bank.

Types of Thermostats Armor Air Offers

If it turns out you need a new thermostat, now’s the time to do your research and consider all of your choices. Luckily, there are so many great options out there that offer energy efficiency and convenience. Armor Air’s experienced HVAC technicians can assess your budget, technical knowledge, HVAC system, and size of your home to determine the best thermostat for you. Here are some of our thermostat options:

Non-Programmable Thermostats

The most affordable of the bunch, non-programmable thermostats give you the bare-bones treatment of comfort control. If you want to turn the heat or air conditioning on, a non-programmable thermostat gives you those options. These are best for small homes with people who stay home for most of the day.

Programmable Thermostats

The next step up in both quality and price is the programmable thermostat. These devices give you the option to create schedules for your HVAC system, so you don’t waste energy at a time when the house is known to be empty. Programmable thermostats may cost a little more than the non-programmable option, but will likely save you money on your utility bills in the long-term.

Smart Thermostats

The high-end option is the Smart Thermostat. A smart thermostat does everything that the other two options can do, but also learns your heating and cooling utilization habits, and gives you the ability to control your HVAC system with your smartphone.

Armor Air was recommended to me by Erik Longenecker. I had been making excuses to not have anyone come out because of money, but I finally broke down and made an appointment since winter is coming. And I'm glad I did. Shawn came by to do a furnace tune-up today. I knew that we had been having some issues with the furnace kicking on during the winter, so it seemed like a good idea to get it checked out. Shawn was able to determine what the problem was. He took the time to explain to me and show me exactly what the problem was, and what would need to be done to fix it. I am very greatful for the time, effort and professionalism that I was shown today.

Armor Air stands out as a company that gives back to the community. Jamie Robertson, owner of Armor Air, donated a brand new HVAC system with installation to one of Cardinal Ritter’s fundraisers and we were the winning bidders. Most companies will sell and drive profits which is important, but few companies will donate something so large and impactful. The installers, Austin and Shaun, were kind and compassionate, and discussed all the questions we had during the installation process. We were so thankful that they took our family’s 1990’s system into the twenty-first century with quality equipment and impeccable service. If you are in need of an HVAC or plumbing company that you can trust, give Armor Air a call. You won’t be disappointed with the hands and hearts they are so eager to share. Looking forward to many more opportunities with them in the future! Highly recommend!

Armor came highly recommended a truly honest company and available When some major complications appeared. Robert took pictures of everything internally on my HVAC systems and did a video explaining things that will need to be done and or how things looked internally. Excellent idea I feel that this is a step above. Also need to add to this review that we had a gas leak prior to Robert **** and Armor sent out John to assess the situation. The small gas leak was by our grill and the gas company Said that there was still a small leak somewhere within our house So we needed to hire a plumber to figure out where it was. 14 hours later, two days Of John and Levi trying to figure out along with Five holes cut into my bulkhead ceiling in the lower Level of my home. No gas for two days which means no hot water not able to cook, etc. With all the Work they did they finally came to a conclusion that the gas company missed The leak on the meter that belongs to them. Thankfully, John and Levi did not give up on trying to figure this out. We called the gas company told them what transpired. A mishap of their own employee. Such a great group of guys that I got to meet through this whole process. Thanks Armor for all your help and not giving up Thanks, Robert. John & Levi
